 In 2002, a Churchwide program of safe environment training was launched. In 2018, 3.9 million students, 2.1 million volunteers, 268,757 employees, 174,817 educators, 33,879 priests, 16,401 deacons, and 6,709 candidates for ordination received training. Is it helping build a safer Church?


According to the National Review Board’s 2018 Annual Progress Report

95% of dioceses who received an on-site audit were fully compliant with the Charter
The number of allegations – the vast majority occurred 3 decades ago – decreased significantly as compared to 2015 and 2016
